The topic of the doctoral dissertation “Scientific substantiation and development of methods of managing the stress state of steel frame fastening of mining works.” He defended his degree in 2004 at the National Mining University with the specialty 05.15.04 – Mine and underground construction.

Scientific interests:

– Ensuring stability and reliability of underground structures;

– Planning the development of underground urbanism based on the system methodology;

– Borehole mining geotechnologies;

– History of mining and underground construction, renovation and revaluation of underground structures.

Biographical reference. He was born on December 11, 1965 in Alchevsk, Luhansk region. In 1988, he graduated from the Donbas State Technical University (specialty “Construction of underground structures and mines”), where he later worked in positions from assistant to professor at the department of construction geotechnology and mining structures. In 1995, he defended his candidate’s thesis, in 2004 – his doctoral thesis. In 2006, he received a professor’s certificate. Since 2013, he has been a professor of the Department of Geoengineering at National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. He completed international scientific internships at the Krakow Mining and Metallurgical Academy (1 year) and at the Warsaw Polytechnic Technical University (3 months). Author of more than 200 scientific publications (including 9 monographs, 1 textbook, 4 training manuals, 39 patents for inventions and utility models).

Donbass State Technical University, 1988, diploma of mining civil engineer.

Scientific and pedagogical activity:

– from 1988 to 2013, intern-researcher, assistant, associate professor, professor of the department of construction geotechnology and mining facilities of the Donbas State Technical University;

– from 2013 to the present time – professor of the geoengineering department of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”;

– manager and executor of 8 research projects of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine, 1 project of the National Research Fund of Ukraine, 1 project of NATO, 1 project with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, participant of international programs Erasmus+, Erasmus Events, House of Europe;

– took part in long-term engineering and archaeological research of the Kartamysh Bronze Age mine (Popasnyan district of Luhansk Region); researched dozens of ancient mines, mine museums, historical mining centers of Central and Eastern Europe and prepared (together with V. Biletskyi) the first Ukrainian textbook “History of Mining”;

– participant of the project “Small mining encyclopedia” (in 3 volumes) and its use in the educational process by means of Wikididactics; author (co-author) of more than 100 articles in the Great Ukrainian Encyclopedia.

– Fastening of mine workings and underground structures;

– Geocontrol of mining production processes;

– Surface complex of mining enterprises;

– Development of energy resources using non-traditional methods;

– Reconstruction and adaptation of historical underground objects

Honors, awards, certificates:

The award of the winner of the traditional annual competition named after Oles Honchar of the magazine “Borysten” for 2015 – for the series of articles “Figures” about prominent people of Donbas in the 19th-21st centuries.
